the benz pilot wanders on the shore
a little bit of firewood
looks like wallpaper for my pc. :)
just a beach
this bird created some excitement among people and feathers...
competition is an ugly thing...
nice little pool, fed by stream, very cold. comes from the rainforest.
just a bunch of water
noticed these strange rock formations...
had to include the '91 300d in a picture... looking back toward the rocks, about a 175 foot drop to the beach
the rocks out in the surf looked a bit like whales...
correct tire size on the car, makes a world of difference.
BFG Traction T/A's - maiden voyage

Saturday drive to Ruby Beach. This is the last beach that is off of US 101. At this point US 101 turns inland and across the peninsula toward Port Townsend. This is the northern most beach accessible on the Peninsula unless one goes off onto some of the Indian reservations. The drive began in Snohomish, we drove over to Edmonds where we boarded a ferry to Kingston (see fees!!! $22.80 for the three of us!). From Kingston we drove west until we joined up with US 101 and proceeded around the north end of the Olympic range. We stopped at Granny's Cafe for lunch and alongside a large freshwater lake that lays along the northside of US 101. Had a nice walk on the beach, watched a sea gull catch a crab and then loose it to some of this feathered competition. The '91 300d 2.5L Turbo Diesel did well on the trip, netting 32mpg. Unfortunately the seats are uncomfortable for my wife, so the next time we make a trip like this it'll probably be in the Jeep.all pictures are protected by Copyright © 2003 John Meister, fotomeister
